Call forwarding sends all incoming calls on a number straight to another phone. It’s the quickest way to point a number somewhere else for a while, for example forwarding the office line to your mobile when you’re out on jobs. It’s set per number. Go to Settings, then Phone numbers, open the number, and choose the Advanced tab.

Forwarding a number

  1. On the Advanced tab, find Call forwarding and turn on Enable call forwarding.
  2. Click into Forward to number and type the number you want calls sent to.
  3. Save.
Every call to this number now goes straight to the number you entered. The card shows Forwarding to and the number, and you can click Edit forwarding to change it or turn it off.
If you enter a number that isn’t valid, Dialbird tells you: “Please enter a valid phone number.” Include the country code.
Needs checking: confirm whether a forwarded call is billed as an outbound call, and whether recording and voicemail still apply once a call is forwarded.
