# Who can use a number

> Give your team access to a number, so they can see its calls and texts.

A number can be looked after by several people. Anyone you give access to can see and use that inbox from their own sidebar, view all its calls and messages, and set their own notification preferences. It's how a shared line gets covered by whoever's free.

Access is set **per number**. Go to **Settings**, then **Phone numbers**, open the number, and choose the **Users** tab.

## Adding someone to a number

1. On the **Users** tab, click **Add users**.
2. Search your team with **Search members...** and pick the people you want. Anyone already on the number shows as **Added**.
3. Confirm.

They'll now see this inbox in their own sidebar and can start handling its calls and texts.

## Removing someone

1. Find the person in the list.
2. Choose to remove them.
3. Tick **I confirm I want to remove this user from this inbox** and click **Remove user**.

They lose access to this inbox, but they stay in your workspace and keep any other numbers they're on.

<Note>
  The workspace **owner** can see every number automatically. Everyone else, admins included, only sees the numbers they've been added to here. So if a colleague can't find a number, add them on this tab. See [Members](/admin/members).
