# Filters

> Show only the conversations or calls you want to see.

When a list gets long, scrolling for the right chat gets slow. Filters cut the list down to just what you're after, whether that's your unfinished conversations or only the calls you missed. When any funnel filter is on, the funnel button turns purple so you can tell at a glance.

## On the Chats tab

At the top you'll see two pills, **All** and **Unread**. Click the little **funnel** for more options, which you can switch on and off in any combination:

* **Open**: conversations you haven't finished with.
* **Closed**: ones you've marked done.
* **Broadcast**: conversations created by a [broadcast](/messaging/broadcast).

  **Broadcast** conversations are hidden unless you turn this filter on. If a broadcast seems to have disappeared, this is why.

## On the Calls tab

The pills become **All** and **Missed**. The **funnel** adds **Incoming** and **Outgoing**, so you can narrow to one direction. (The funnel is hidden while the **Missed** pill is selected, since you're already looking at just those.)

## Clearing a filter

Switching between the Chats and Calls tabs resets the filters back to showing everything.
