# UK numbers

> UK businesses don't need carrier registration to text UK customers.

If you're a UK business texting UK customers, there's nothing to register. You can just start texting.

## Why there's nothing to do

A2P 10DLC registration is a **US** rule, set by American phone companies for texts sent to **US** numbers. It only applies when you're reaching customers on US phone numbers.

A UK workspace can only text UK numbers in the first place, so US registration never comes into it. See [Texting other countries](/messaging/international-messaging) for what your workspace can and can't text.

## Getting your texts to land well

Registration aside, a few good habits help your messages reach UK customers reliably: only text people who expect to hear from you, give them an easy way to opt out, and steer clear of anything that looks like spam. See [When texts won't send](/messaging/message-deliverability).
