# Toll-free numbers

> How texting registration works for toll-free numbers, and how it differs from local numbers.

A2P 10DLC registration, the flow described across the rest of this section, is for standard US **local** numbers. Toll-free numbers, the ones that are free for your customers to call, are handled through a separate carrier process, so they don't go through the A2P 10DLC registration in the Trust Center.

## What the Trust Center covers

The registration you complete under **Settings**, then **Trust Center**, is A2P 10DLC for **local** numbers: you answer a couple of questions, fill in your business and campaign details, and pay the carrier fees. See [Overview](/getting-started/carrier-registration/overview).

## Texting from a toll-free number

Toll-free texting registration is a separate carrier process, not the same as A2P 10DLC. If you have a toll-free number and want to text from it, the quickest way to get it set up correctly is to ask our team.
